This focused issue of the Annals of Research Hospitals is dedicated to Dr. Stylianos Tsakiris: a brain researcher, university teacher and mentor who retired as Associate Professor of Physiology after serving the academic community of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens for more than 35 years.
